A morning ride and produce picking

Dave surprised me with a labor day excursion this morning. The tandem bike was such a great idea and the weather couldn't have been more beautiful. Lofty ideas were thrown around of biking to the lake for a swim, or up to visit our long distance friends. Unfortunately, it took only a few minutes to realize none of these would be possible. I have only one word, "OUCH!" Who ever designed bike seats!? What happened to the good old comfortable banana-seats that provided all-around support? Holy cow, that was the most uncomfortable ride I've ever been on. I actually resorted to my feminine hygiene stash and stuck one to the seat hoping for a bit more padding- no good, though it did look rather funny. Dave did most of the peddling so I could rest back on the coosh of my tushe. I sure am bruised, but still the ride was beautiful. We cycled along a small stream and through dense forests of oaks, aspens, and choke-cherry trees until we arrived at a park and sat beside the stream just enjoying the breeze and each other. We're going out again this evening, and this time I'm sitting on a throw pillow.
Ok, so now it is later in the day (I wrote the above this morning.) My friend Laura her little girl, Lily, and I went fruit picking at a high school across the street and found some yummy baking apples and choke cherries (no one else ever picks them so I didn't feel too bad.)

Yea, I tried a spin class, but my "girl place" tells me that won't be happening again. . . and that was on a stationary bike!

Next time hook a wagon up to the back of your regular bike and have Dave pull you around while feeing you snacks. :)
