Christine Thuet's Dream

Although it is true we told Dave's family about our pregnancy only 1 week ago, it is not accurate to say they - or more appropriately - Christine my mother-in-law - was completely surprised by the news. We do not live near them, and with busy schedules on both sides phone conversations are not frequent. Her suspicions were derived from a dream she had and her long history of prophetic dreams. Christine has dreamed about nearly all of her 10 children before they were born. So when she dreams about her son and daughter-in-law being pregnant...well, lets just stay she stakes quite a bit of faith in it.
A couple of months she called to tell us she'd "had a little dream about us." We still planned on waiting and telling her in person, so while denying any truth to the dream, I was still very intrigued as to the gender of this dream baby. But you know what? She wouldn't tell us! "No," she said, "I was wrong last time, I don't want to say too much this time." With 'last time' she referred to 3 years ago when she dreamed we were going to have a little boy. Well, we didn't. Granted, it wasn't long after that Jennica, Christine's daughter, announced she was expecting a boy. Nevertheless, having been wrong before she was hesitant to say too much this time. Not long after that she was on the phone with Dave when she suddenly said (paraphrased), "Wait, what do you mean by that? Are you trying to tell me something? David? Are you? No? Do you promise?" As much as Dave hates to lie, he decided now would be an OK time. So he lied, and she felt slightly chagrined, but not too much since she didn't really believe him.
Well, last weekend when I finally broke the news, she AT LAST told me about the dream. She said the baby in her dream was a little girl with blond hair who looked just like Dave except for slightly larger eyes. she said this little girl looked up at everyone with bright, interested, and excited eyes - the same look frequently captured on tape or photo of Dave. So...shall we see if Grandma Thuet is a prophetess? Of course, perhaps her dream was of another child yet to be born, but still, she's made me curious. Dave feels more confident now when he refers to the baby as a 'she' even though I still continue, out of habit I suppose, to do the opposite.
