So, apparently my placenta is anterior, meaning it is acting as a little pillow between the baby and my bellybutton. Basically the baby has to get in a real good kick before I'll feel anything. And that, I have now been reassured by my doctor, is completely normal.
Other things that are completely normal: the baby. Yup. The miniature morsel enjoyed the experience of a good old fashion ultrasound today. Unfortunately the little imp just felt like sleeping and despite the nurse's aggressive pushes and prods, our baby didn't do much more than yawn a few times - though that was adorable. Everything is measuring normal. The baby's weight: 12oz. I'm 20 weeks and 1 day, the baby is measuring 20 weeks and 3 days, so right on schedule.
Alright, enough of using the unisex pronouns. Are you curious if we learned the gender? Well, yes. As a matter of fact we did. We are both THRILLED with the news, and I think we'll have fun at the next family reunion. Both Emily and Natalie will have little boys by then, so it looks like we'll have:
Two men and a little lady

I guess my Mother-in-law IS smarter than the Chinese.

I haven't but I will sometime. Also, there's a Laura Ingalls Wilder museum right outside of Rochester, MN, I can't wait to see it next time we're up there!
