Not much to report, yet.

With ten days left to go, where are we? Not much further than we were with 20 days to go. I have not been having strong contractions, just the typical, slightly uncomfortable, Braxton Hicks. Although, due to my blood-clotting disorder, my doctor says he won't let me go past my due date (the 23rd)... so ten days is the maximum! Yikes! The baby's head is down and in position. She is active, especially at bedtime when I can really tell just exactly how far down her head is! Ooh, uncomfortable. She is measuring exactly on (38 cm at 38 weeks.) We still don't have a name, but at least we've narrowed it down (though we've decided to not talk about our potentials since every time we do we have stopped liking the name we finally agreed on!)
The baby's room is done, so except for the need to pick up some receiving blankets and a breast pump - not to mention pack my hospital bag (I don't know why I keep putting this off) I think we're ready for her... (gulp.)
At the moment my naive birthing plan is to labor at home in the bathtub as long as I can stand it and then head over to the hospital. If they still aren't ready for me, then I'll labor in the jacuzzi there for awhile, then we'll see.... An epidural sounds rather nice, and because I tested positive for Group B Strep I'll already have an I.V. in me, so what's one more needle? Like I said, this is a naive birthing plan, so even though it can and will probably change, this is my current plan of action. My birthing plan does continue after delivery, but I've probably already given more information than you wanted!
By the way, do most women go through multiple false labors before the real thing? Because I sure haven't, and I'm wondering if that means I don't need to worry about going into real labor until there is a ramp up. Or do some women find themselves just walking along and bam! No warning, just sudden real contractions or their water breaks and it's time for early (but real) labor?

I have an electric pump. Want to borrow it?

Naw, that's ok. Thank you though. My insurance will pay most of it anyway, so may as well get my own.

you know, it's better to NOT have false labor. That's what I think...haha...guess why. I think it's different for everyone, none of my sisters ever had false labor like I have so I think it's just me. It just means I'm more tired than everyone else...dang.

This won't be the answer you wanted, but it is totally different for everyone. I have long hard labors with my contractions close together for hours and hours and hours. My mom has false labor for a few days before the real thing. People like Kristi M just start contractions and poof their baby is out in like 6 hours. People like my sister have their water break and poof the baby is out in like 2 hours, and people like my friend Val have their water break, but their darn contractions won't get going for awhile. So your guess is as good as anyones. Oh and I don't think your labor plan is naive at all. People told me I was crazy for my birthing plan with Alex, but we did it.

I can't believe you're so close! I can't wait to see pictures of your little girl and to hear all about it! I like your baby's room too- it looks really cute and girly. :)
