Giant bathtub my foot!

Another lie propagated from parent to child: swimming pools are giant bathtubs.

Paige here speaking. So last week my mom comes into my nursery all excited with exclamations of "Paige! Today you get to go swimming at the pool!" Noticing my hesitancy she followed up by explaining it as, and I quote: "A giant bathtub!" Bathtub? I thought. OK, I like bathtubs. I agreed to go.

She lied.

It was freezing! My tub isn't freezing! And it was the worst of two worlds: I was cold, and I had to wear a diaper! Oh, and to add insult to injury everyone thought I was a boy because mom put me in a blue diaper without even the decency of covering it up with a bathing suit.

I was miserable. Because all of the other kids seemed to be having a wonderful time, my mom kept telling me I'd "get used to it." Well I didn't, and after about 20 minutes of vehemently expressing my displeasure in the arrangement she finally got the point.
Notice how we aren't in the group photo? That's because I made mom get out and so she is behind the camera and I am snug and warm in my car seat, watching.
